Getting Curtain Measurements Right: A Quick Guide

Whether looking for curtains for your new home or refreshing an old one, accurate curtain measurements are key. Curtains are typically measured in inches or centimeters; stick to one for consistency.

• Standard Measurement Tips:
• Length: Unless you're planning to mount your curtains much higher than the window frame, measure from the top of the window to where you'd like the curtain to end.
• For floor-length curtains, measure down to the floor.
• For shorter styles, adjust based on your desired look.
• Wall-Mounted Curtain Guidelines:
• For wall-mounted rods or tracks, we suggest adding 25 cm on each side of the window - top, bottom, left, and right. This extra margin ensures complete coverage, better light control, and a more luxurious drape.
• How to calculate:
• Measure your window’s width and height. Then, add 50 cm to each (25 cm per side).
• Example: For a window that's 150 cm wide and 200 cm high, your curtain size should be approximately 200 cm wide × 250 cm high.
• Ceiling-Mounted Curtain Guidelines:
• For a clean, floor-to-ceiling aesthetic, mount the curtain track at ceiling level.
• Height: Measure from the ceiling down to the floor.
• Width: Measure the window width and add 50 cm (25 cm on each side) to allow the fabric to extend beyond the frame.
